The AIR OPTIX AQUA are monthly disposable lenses extremely permeable to oxygen, leaving your eyes breathe easier and intended for daily wear. AIR OPTIX AQUA is made from a revolutionary material made from silicone.
To operate perfectly, and in order to stay healthy, our eyes need oxygen, as if they "breathe". The cornea (the transparent front part of the eye) pumps the oxygen through air: oxygen dissolves in the tear film that is on the eye and is thus led to the cells of the cornea.
A traditional lens makes this process a little more difficult because it forms a barrier between the air and the eye.
To avoid side effects associated with long term hypoxia, most adapters advise their holders to limit the time wearing their lenses for 8-10 hours a day.
